I started writing short stories when I was around 15 and drew recognition when my short story was published in our school magazine, it being compared to 'masterful Mills & Boon type crap, but with a particularly bloody ending' by one jealous schoolmate. The name of the story in question? It was...um...OK, so I can't remember but it was enough to spark me into action, although progress in much of the immediate years after that may have been stalled somewhat by the discovery of beer. Although I dabbled in poetry as a teenager, I have only really come back to writing in this form over the last couple of years and so now I write poetry or prose, depending on which one seems to suit the subject (or what mood I'm in!).
