In Memory Of Heartache

Dear Heartache, I can see that he is leaving,
You made me think he was ‘the one’.
But now I find my heart is grieving,
Because his true love I never won.

Yes, he would tell me how he loved me,
And I was the center of his world.
But you knew we weren’t meant to be,
Because I was only his girl.

He has found a true woman now,
And he speaks of her so lovingly.
To her his love he’d vow,
But for his love he acts blindly.

Has he forgotten her betrayal?
For now he runs to her in glee.
My heart is in true peril,
He would never run back to me.

I will always support him,
Though she may destroy his world.
I will never be his woman,
But I can still be his girl.

So, Heartache, I have decided,
That I will never find true love.
My hope for it has faded,
And of you I've had enough.
