The One

I want to be the one you talk to
When life has got you down
The one you crave and hunger for
No matter who else is around

The one you close your eyes for
And think of constantly
The one you love and desire
And dream of passionately

The one that fuels your passion
Consuming and full of lust
The one your heart is beating for
The one you can always trust

I want to be your haven
When all the storms assail
Your shelter and protection
When all defenses fail

I want to be the music
That fills your very soul
The one that sings a melody
Till the day that we grow old

I want to be the water
That quenches every thirst
When satisfying every need
The one you come to first

I want you to always need me
Close and by your side
The one you can’t live without
Your constant joy and pride

And I never want to question
Your love and care for me
Just want to know that deep inside
I'm held eternally
