Child of Yesterday

Where is the child of yesterday

Seems the time just slips away

All I lack is strength to grow

I lost that a long time ago

Memories fringe on loosened ends

The child of yesterday pretends

He could not feel He could not see

Then became a man not ment to be

Slipped through the cracks straight through the fence

Robbed of years and innocence

Drinking again but it wont last

No way to forget the abuse of the past

On and on holding back the tears

Hate and rage drag on for years

From this pain I want to die

I hold on to it and cant say goodbye

Take it from me before it's too late

Love can eliminate the hate

Prayer is a key to a new doorway

To free the child of yesterday

Prayer, understanding and good old fashioned human love..Scars never heal but they don't have to fester for a lifetime...len

A new fav of mine Fletch Great Job! If "Prayer is a key to a new doorway" then Time must be the doorway itself that God has provided that Not only allows an escape to a safehaven but a contrasting view to a reward of fond memories of the good times as well. This is great stuff here Fletch. I can read a lot into this. Thank you for sharing.
