~My Life's Ambition~
Oh, I long for days gone by,
when I enjoyed making mud pies,
when I wore ponytails all summer,
and picked dandelions for mom's surprise
.

I'd go for many nature walks,
in the woods during the spring.
I would watch the small animals scurry,
and I'd hear the birdies sing.

Playing softball with the neighbors,
was always just for fun.
It never really mattered,
if you got a hit or scored a run.

Kick the can was a favorite game too,
but you had to wait till after dark to play.
You tried not to get caught running in,
but if you did, so what, what the hey.

We'd slide down the ditches,
as the cars on the road were nearing.
We'd lie down low as they flew on by,
but never once were we fearing.

Ahh, the joy of being a kid,
and using one's imagination.
If I could change my life right now,
being a kid would be my life's ambition.

Author's Notes:

Oh, to be a kid again and have fun
with my friends with no responsibilities.
What a joy that would be!!!

There is an old Twilight Zone episode where a group of folks in an elderly home play kick the can and become children again. It's worth a try ain't it? Meet you in the park at adult dark, (dusk). Fun and wistful write Karen. jp

My only wish is to still have you as a friend when we go back to being kids. Having such a simple life without a care in the world, sounds good to me. Without all the aches and pains of getting old too. Very cute write Sis.
Love ya................Tracy
