NO ONE IS HERE ON THE SITE
Hickory, dickory, dock,
it is now four o'clock.
I can hear the slightest sound,
because no one is around.
Lack of sleep has put me in shock.

It has been a very long night,
no one is here on the site,
I guess the world is asleep,
everyone is counting sheep.
Well, don't let the bed bugs bite.

It is the dawning of a new day,
and inspiration has come my way.
I am done painting the town,
it is time to put my head down,
I have nothing left to say.

Author's Notes:

4 am and I am the only person on the site right now.........eerie!

Lol, having worked night shift for the past two years, I have felt this very same thing on occasion!  But you know... it seems alot easier to get alot of comments out and just speed-read through the wee hours with total comprehesion... If you're USED to being up at 4AM, that is!  Hey, maybe one of these weekends I'll see you and give you a friendly nudge.  Otherwise, I think you found the commenting "sweet-spot!"  Great poem and happy reading! Peace!

LOL...hey Joe, I was here when you logged in but left shortly thereafter and it's funny too because I was thinking, "Poor Joe is going to all alone now"...hahahaha...so yah, I was so curious when I saw the title of this poem. I have to say I laughed out loud for I remember the moment when I checked out and left you alone. (it was 3 am my time though but I was burning the midnight oil too)

You made use of the quiet I see. *smiles*

4:00 and all's well...

Joe's awake and ringing the bell

The mouse in the clock has fallen asleep

The rest of the world was counting sheep

I was probably awake...but can't be online when everyone's at home. It's almost like a cardinal sin at my house for me to be online when the "boss" is home!

Loved this little write!

Hugs...

Glata

How strange never seen it empty before Joe. Usually when I cannot sleep I read that gets me off again after maybe two hours.

Wonderful

Wow Joe...that IS something~
I've never seen that myself...Must be eerie indeed.

Fun write Joe, I enjoyed the final line of stanza two...represents well the intriguing form you use throughout....

Had an impact...I felt your aloneness :o)

Nice one Joe, been there before, certainly is a strange feeling to be the only one around on site. Joe
