Wonderfully written piece about Mondays Adri. We all have days like this and hate them. I think it hurts even more when they come in the middleof the week rather than on Monday.

Great poem....a universal idea everyone can really empathised with, but expressed in a very articulate and precise way.

LOL ... This is a good piece! The synicism was a wonderful outlet to the ending . I am quite syical myself in my writing and very down trodden in some ways but most label it as " Melancholy " . But there again it is kind of suprising for me to read this piece being that I live in USA , it is a culture shock to hear of traffic jams in Africa but your profile does say that you are in the Metropolitan region of Africa ( South Africa ) . But I do love the way you capture the morning that all of us dread in that lull we all fall into between college and middle age where sleep becomes the most precious commoditity and the one thing none of us can really buy . Interesting read !

Why does Monday always get blamed for the hell called Work?...it's not Monday's fault that work sucks and we would rather stay in bed...let's face it, if you could get up and pretend Monday was Saturday...it would be another great day...anyway...I like the poem...and I...just thought I'd try to be funny...sooo...I'm done now...good job!

Once a person gets off to a bad start it doesn't take much to keep the ball rolling. I do hate days like this but I've learned and practise slow down techniques. It seems once I tell myself that I'm back in charge...suddenly I am and the "other" crap doesn't get a chance to happen. This may not work ALL of the time but even if it works SOME of the time, that sure helps.

I really hate this feeling. You got the rhythm going really nicely in the first part. Do you want rhyme to keep it bouncy in the second: what else can go wrong is prosaic compared to what else could I expect?
break would be 'breaks' if it is the third person 'heal' rather than heals. Are you breaking both you crazy girl? Yeah, that stiletto heal breaking is hard to bear. I've always got mine in for repair, especially with the ice and snow this time of year. I'm not funny. Anyway, the reality of life is a great topic for poetry. Do you know that horrirfying one by Roethke about the paper clips, pencils and dust that runs through our lives: http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/1075.html

This is a catchy write and something we all can relate too....
Oversleeping is under rated.... We should never think 5 more minutes because it takes us
20 minutes all day just to catch up.... Been there before...
Thank you for sharing your Monday, I bet it is not that much different from mine... lol

LOL,my dear Ah, this sounds like a Shania Twain song! "Honey, I'm home and I had a hard day..." LOL! I know what you mean, though. Nearly ALL of my days seem like that...grrrr! Except for the stiletto heels...I do good to walk with NO heels on my shoes! I'd break my neck and have cramps in my feet for the rest of my life if I tried those at my age and weight! LOL
Loved this...and can totally sympathise!
Hugs and hopes for a better day tomorrow...
