This Shattered Heart
This Shattered Heart

Wake up, everythings okay
We talk, we laugh, we kiss
I feel alive, I feel loved
I look into your eyes, and I am happy...

But then that night, such a horrible night
You said it's over, you can't do it anymore
I would of thrown away everything just for you
But now, none of that matters, no, not anymore

I sit here, forcing back tears
Swearing to never cry
Asking myself questions
Wondering how? and why?

You say it's not my fault
But I can't help but think it is
You say your done with everything
Lovely to know im part of it

I spend my being trying to make you happy
Make you smile
Make you laugh
Funny how things turn out...now im thrown out like trash

Hate my mind tells me to feel
Sorrow my heart begs me to let my tears flow
But I wish for neither, my will, what does it say
For it can not scream anymore, it's voice is gone

But now I realize, I loved you
But you tossed me away this dreaful night
With this shattered glass heart I write these words
With this stabbed and cut up heart I bleed these words

With the thoughts of sweet memories passed driven into my brain
I write these words, not in hate, but still in love
You tore apart my world, my crimson blood dove
You pushed me away, and took my soul along with my love

Now that these wounds are torn open
Let us watch as they heal
But scars indeed shall remain
For I was once a dark angel, but you tore apart my wings....
Author's Notes:
This poem was written the day my girlfriend of over a year left me, I was so out of that I could'nt sleep eat or drink anything for about two or three days, so to try and let out some of the pain I wrote this poem, I'm pretty much over her now, but reading this poem sometimes brings back some of that pain, I hope some of you can relate to this poem, or at least enjoy it for what it is, this poem is also ment to be one end of what I believe is the hartache scale, I have another poem posted in the entitled *Rip Apart My Soul* which is ment to be the other half of the scale, if you enjoyed this poem, I encourage you to go and read *Rip Apart My Soul*.
