And yet Again

I am such a royal fool
Openly believing everything I was told
Publicly believing all that was said as truth
Gave my heart unconditionally
Opened up
Revealing me
Declaring my love
How could I be so wrong
Judging with my heart alone
Acting like a novice in love
Allowing myself to be swept up
Allowing myself to fall hopelessly in love
with words and gestures promised to me
Humiliated with all I know
Ripped open for all to see
Grief not even present as yet
For shock are still reflecting in my eyes
Our life together was being planned for us
That’s the intensity it was driven too
I believed in love
I totally, devotedly believed in him
Bleeding in love is all he left me with.

This is true to my heart and I am sure everyone felt this once in their lives. We have to go through heartache to really know how to love. I Love your poem dear Adri~

i really like the line, "acting like a novice in love"  ...none of us are pros in this gift called love but it surely hurts when we are fooled and the gift is snatched away.  much emotion fills the page...will love visit you again...next time for keeps?  it is worth giving it one more try!

Sometimes we don't hear what they say but what we want to hear.  Love is good but never seems clear.

I don't believe in telling other people what to feel. I do know that when the real thing comes along, nothing short of death can get in the way of it. The pain in this ppoem is artfylly expressed, Adri...len

Love IS..until it isn't any longer, nothing is completely one sided though, I'm sure loss is felt by both of you. To believe in love is a good thing. Remember the expression, "Better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all.", well it is so true. Be thankful for the experience Adri, it was one of a kind.

That is the right way to give your love.  It is to bad that he didn't give his the same way.  I know that is the way that I give mine and would expect another to love me in return as well.

May I suggest that you switch the last two words at least long enough to look at them and see if you agree.  I think that it would work better with me being the last word and with the next to last; although, I do like it as it is.  I read it both ways and to me the other just reads a bit better.

So sad when love goes wrong. There is so much heartbreak out there, but there is also an equal amount of fulfillment as well. You will find your Prince Adri, he is out there for you!

Love always comes back.  Maybe not by the one you were hoping it would be, but just look around you, it's everywhere.

Good work,

Herman

This is heartbreaking - the openess of trust against furtive and mysteriousness of

treachery. The voice is distinct and the emotions conveyed, touching.

Adri you have nothing to be ashamed of. Giving your heart unconditionally, being volunerable is a strenghth not a weekness. You can't control or predict the heart of another. Beating yourself up for trusting is just punishing yourself. What for? You did nothing wrong.

Happiness is what we seek, but an open mind is needed as well as an open heart.

Unfortunately there is a growing number of people who seek to play games with others.

Life is already hard enough, people like that make it even harder...

My heart goes out to you my friend, the scars of pain are gashed upon me as well.

geag A - don't know exactly how to react to this - at once my empathy is invoked to all 'suffering' animals AND YET i am sure you will survive/go on perhaps to endure yet more affairs of the heart and yes even perhaps your soul --- that is the fate of homo sapiens unlike the 'lower forms' sometimes men and other troglodytes thanks for sharing something so personal regards zaj

Ah, hon...I'm  SO  sorry!!! I can feel the misery in every line...and for anyone to break a trusting heart, they have to be the type of person that doesn't have one of their own. Sweetie...I'm here.

Love ya, l'il sister....

Many will find this a painful read for seeing themselves in it described with a passion for being the fool and the emotional plaything of another, the loss of trust, self guilt and anger, hate and remorse all become a burden to be borne for the selfish actions of one who gained trust on false pretences, excellent writing Adri.
