THE HISTORY OF BRUCE
In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue
knowing that the world had so much to explore
Stories say that he set sail with three ships
but new documents show that there were four

The Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria and the Espiranza
all set sail on a beautiful clear summer's day
The ships stayed together for most of the trip
but for some reason the Espiranza was led astray

Stormy seas and a broken compass separated the Espiranza
somehow the ship starting sailing due west
After months sailing lost, the crew started to lose it
and her captain, Bruce Dixon, was put to the test

Dixon tried his hardest to keep control
but the crew felt they were headed for certain doom
After sailing, lost for several months
their ship crashed on the Austalian shore of Broome

Not much is known of Austalian history
at least not until after the British had landed
Dixon still has his journal though
showing when the land's exploration expanded

How old is Bruce Dixon?
No one really knows for sure
There is a lot of history in his journal
dating back to the year 1464!

Author's Notes:

Best I can do on short notice Bruce. I know Broome is an actual place in Australia and so is Esperance, hence the fourth ships name I created for this piece. I hope you like it and again Happy Birthday, Joe

LMAO! Joe, this is priceless! I'm going to hide my birthdate... Lord God, I  don't think it  will be safe to have it listed! (giggles) and yep...I, too, know his true age, and my lips are sealed, as well...

Incredibly funny stuff here, Joe! You are one inventive man...And know what? I can't wait to see what Henry comes up with...sounds like he's  got plans!

Hugs and grins...

Now your picking on Bruce??? Is there no end to your jabs and insults about people's age? I think you should take a minute and think about when the time comes for you to be old! ( Did I hear someone say he already is?) I am going to write something about you for when you become a drooling , doddering, arthritic old fool. It will be delivered to you on the day you turn 50! Then we'll see who gets to laugh last!!!!!!! LOL, very humorous write Joe.  Henry
