Forgiven

If you traveled ‘round this world

And you stopped at every steeple

You’d hear some hellfire preachin’

To put the fear of god in people

But I know my father loves me

Who just don’t understand

To bring god to a man

Been told to find religion

Author's Notes:

I wrote this for my husband because he, as well as other, believe they can not be loved by god because they have done to much "wrong".

As a parent I know my children will get into trouble in one way or another. I expect them to come to me and ask for help. All I ask is honesty and respect. Tell me the truth and I will do what I can. Sometimes I can fix it. Sometimes they will need to learn a lesson..... Either way I will always love them and they will always be welcome in my home.

There is a reason why we call the Lord our Father God. All he asks is honesty and respect. All will be welcome in his home.

	nice poem.i like to read poems that state a lesson.well...there is only one unforgivable sin and that is if you dont believe in god.and god is always there to help he may not help you immediatly but he will help sooner or later.and god loves you no matter what.i dont even know why i said that but well..in my opionion it fits in with the poem but thats my thought.NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS THAN YOUR BEST. -alisha Respond To This Comment

	Great poem I can relate fully. "Salvation the world needs it, The worst man to ever walk the earth will go to Heaven if he attains it, and the best man to walk the earth will go to hell if he misses it" a quote by William Booth. Tell your husband God wants us to realize our need for him and wants us to repent for our sins and only then can they be forgiven. Respond To This Comment
