Street Corner
Tonight, a waning moon
hangs from a lamp post
on the far corner of a street,
empty and quiet.

Off in the distance,
a shooting star flames out
like a time long ago.
There were a thousand wishes then.

You create mood in this poem. This poem is both nostalgic & lovely Roger.

And, those wishes are only to come true if you REALLY believe....Souls will wait until they do...

Marvelously delicious, Roger...

So serene and peaceful.  My favorite line is the final line, "There were a thousand wishes then."  Absolutely beautiful.

You always seem to take me to wherever you are. Short, reflective, finely drawn. Yes. Lots of wishes then. ML

Hello Roger..

I like this.. It has a surreal quality to it. Like closing ones eyes and listening to the softest sounds in the dark and seeing the sky filled with dozens of glimmering stars. Memories we all shared as children..

'Wishing on a star'

Moonie

I am having a strong feeling I have read this from you before?....
but either way..it gave me an inner vision commensurate with the wording....
and I felt like there are others who see as I do.
