On the Brink
{I added audio today for those of you
who enjoy bad singing on cheap equipment} :o)
***

The world keeps spinning right out of control

The end of days is coming soon, I'm told

It must be so

I saw it on the TV screen

Politicians keep on telling lies

We keep on voting, still we seem surprised

When all our petty schemes

End up in the same bad dream

*

(bridge}

We can’t go back

Can’t stand still

Keep rolling forward like we got no will

History never seems to teach us

A goddamned thing

We’re living on the brink

Oh yeah

Living in a dream

Oh yeah

Trying not to see

Oh yeah

We’re living on the brink!

*

Somewhere out there among the stars

God must be puffing on his big cigar

Smiling as we’re pondering

What the whole thing means

I see it coming and it won't be long

Everybody’s gonna have the bomb

The day is coming-It’ll all be gone

With a just a silent scream

 *

(bridge}

We can’t go back
Can’t stand still

Keep rolling forward like we got no will

History never seems to teach us

A goddamned thing

We’re living on the brink

Oh yeah

Floating in a dream

Oh yeah

Trying not to think
Oh yeah

We’re living…on the brink!

You're a Blues Man to the bone.  History only teaches us to recognize the mistakes we've made when we make them again, and again, and again....................

Yup Len nothing is what we learn and nothing is what we will end up if we don't wake up very soon.

Excellent my friend, thankyou for sharing.

Don't it just twist your guts to see humanity being driven to the edge of the abyss and still they try to tell us that we can trust those who make the rules? When my number is up I am not complaining.

Hey, if you saw it on TV, that's all the proof I need. You're one talented guy, lennie. You find so many ways to share the lesson. One of them has to sink in. ML Well, you'd think.
