"Whispers by Moonlight"
"Whispers by Moonlight"

Waking up to this day that exists enveloped by radiant golden sunshine strands.
I thank Our Lord for the life he has created for me, for us, for everyone.
I thank him for those serene moments when we sleep, and are able to whisper to our hearts, and minds,
the names of all those we cherish, and love.
I also offer an acknowledgement of gratitude for those souls that have touched our hearts, and lives.
I thank God for the innate gift of being able to discern between right, and wrong, and being able to choose the path of light without hesitation.
What I will always thank Our Lord for the rest of my eternity though will be for that special gift that he bestowed upon me when he created my being.
That gift is that, forever after, when I gaze at a full moon at midnight.
Whenever I see two people in love's embrace, and kiss.
Whenever I am graced with the gift of touch, taste and sight of a fig tree's vibrant fruit, and flesh,
I will remember your heart.
I will remember your heart entwined with mine when that first soft Autumn evening breeze grazes my being.
I will miss your touch, your smile, your laughter, and the jasmine scent of your body, as that soft Autumn evening breeze again whispers your name to my dreams, Silently, Softly, Lovingly.
As the gentle whisper of your name cascades within my shattered countenance, that soft, silken breeze will leave my side to travel through the moonlit night, past the universe, past the azure firmament, and sparkling blanket of stars, to finally arrive in Heaven, and lay our hearts lovingly embracing, within God's loving hands, and dreams.
Author's Notes:
I wrote it with the the thought of how it would feel to truly be in an unconditional love. A love that exists for the sole purpose of loving and not wanting to change the other person for our own benefit. It was a simple statement to love and to the beauty of the nature that accompanies us everyday and sometimes we don't acknowledge it. I also wrote it in a manner that the matter of religious orientation of the person that is reading this poem is not important as what you truly feel in your heart and soul. The God that I wrote about is a God that loves all of us not just a select few, it can be their own belief of a superior being, but in the end the poem is about love and our continuing quest for optimism and the relentless striving of the human heart to hang on to that sometimes evanescent creature called Hope!

The change from the expressions of gratitude to the remembrance was gradual and lovely. I thought "I will remember your heart" was the perfect place to end this piece. The portion that follows starting with " I will remember your heart entwined with mine" is emotive, deeply touching and sincere and could definitely stand as its own creation. Beautiful expression Sergio. I particularly enjoyed the lines of remembrance at the end. Thank you for sharing.

Very uplifting. This starts out as what appears to be a prayer but evolves to the Narrator speaking to

a beloved. Very original.
