Sweet Smile

The fear of taking on the task
was more than I could bear

For knowing how you took care of me
I knew I could not compare

You still have that sweet smile and that
quirky personality, but slowly each day
I see the dwindling of your vitality

Of the time we share I am more aware
and embrace it with all of my soul

As I accept the fact that we have started
the reversal of the role.

I took care of my mom for many year, not with Alzheimer, I also work in a facility with many patients with the disease.  I know it is hard, i'll pray for strength and courage to fill your days.  Tina

Taking care of an aging parent is difficult enough but when a parent has Alzheimers it is beyond normal caring. You are brave and wonderful to be there when they needed you the most. That is the most loving thing a child can do. I admire you for that.
