A New Day Dawns

A New Day Dawns

Darkness fades.  The sunbeams pierce the shadows.

The awesome power of the day, with it anticipation grows.

Birds with familiar refrain awaken all creatures great and small.

All of nature a symphony, warming up their instruments one and all

They cry out, "Awaken dear Mother.  There's work to be done.”

Saying, "Away with you Darkness.  Make way for the Sun."

She awakens in all her glory as night submits to dawn.

She counts every tree.  Knows the heart beat of every fawn.

She conducts this symphony of sound and motion.

They all follow her lead, the thunder as well as the oceans.

Her beauty is radiant.  Nothing can compare.

The golden colors of fall make up her flowing hair.

Her garment, soft billowing clouds, makes up her attire.

Her gaze, hypnotizing, likened to a refining fire.

What lovely music.  Heard throughout the world.

As life begins anew and a new day is unfurled.
