I would'nt rain on your parade here. The war still goes on and still no end in sight somtimes I ask myself is it worth the fight or more loss of life. I like your poem its sad cause its so true

Congrats on your award. Sadly, I think as long as there is a human race there will be wars. It is the only behavior unique to humans.

Your poem reminds me of a war in Iran when we forced to devote our lives to defend our country against Iraq. Thanks so much for the poem.

great musings, scott - very well done. your work, for whatever reason, put me in mind of movies like "all quiet on the western front" and "paths of glory" where soldiers are faced with the savagery of war at the behest of clueless seniors. exceptional work here.

The hunt for bin Laden was a ruse. Bush rocketed a few caves in Afghanastan, then used that country as a staging area to invade Iraq. Only Fox News watchers think Saddam had anything to do with 9-11. I wonder why we don't "liberate" a few African nations?...Oh, that's right....They don't have any OIL!!....GReat write, Scott. I agree. Fighting mobile terrorist organazations by military invasion of foriegn countries makes no common sense. len

When I first saw the title I though of the song "War" by 30 Seconds to Mars :o) I like what you say in here, all the technology in the world but can not find one man. Personally I think war is just silly (for the lack of a better word) driven by people who is not on the front lines. Just me being on my soap box for 5 seconds. In any way, I like this, well written and greatly executed. Adri x

Simple, The idiots in power don't want to find him. They'd have to
shut off the war if they did. Oh, you'd better not get me going on this
subject, Go into my poems and pull up "Preface ... Dedication" and you'll see my views on all wars. And I am a Vietnam veteran. This whole thing isn't about getting the man. It's about keeping our economy moving. Right now they don't dare shut the war off. Therefore, they can't find him They just throw us a bone every now and then to keep us supporting the war. Don't get me wrong, I support our troops, just not the war. Good questions Gene

I agree men that hide are cowards. Even if "the man" is killed there will be hundreds of men who are willing to step up to take his place. It is religious conviction or ideology that is our main threat. That's much more dangerous that any man can be. It's much more difficult to combat one's religious convictions. Even more difficult to change those views. Terrific poem!
