A taste of love

Serenade me as I sit among the vines
Tell me of love and life and how it feels
for I have yet to taste the fruits of love
or hear the fanfare that heralds desire
Let me revel in the words you speak
become entwined in the roots of lustful prose
Cover me in soft petals of devotion
and let me lie naked in adoration
of a utopian civilisation
where all is lost in an adoring throng

Oh to wallow in the throes of passion
to gorge on nectar till I can eat no more
For this is what I crave before I die
To taste life and to love.........
just once
