Fishing Nets

Fishing nets play out.
Casting from shore that's so close,
these men are skillful.
Plying a trade now known old,
Lanterns give light to stream cold.

When one thinks about the determined task of these fishermen, it makes me envision them being taught throughout their lives from their family....Indeed, I wonder as Tanya, what about the fishermen of the Gulf area....Your work is quite visual, letting us 'see' the men in lantern light...

Alfred

A wonderful poem.  I really like fishing.  I haven't gone in over seven years, I think I should find some time to do it this summer.  It gives so much peace of mind.

Beautiful poem.  It makes me think of the poor fishermen that used to fish in the Gulf of Mexico.  Where will they go now to fish?
