THE CARE TAKER
THE CARE TAKER

She is the one we always forget,
but she is the one we can't forget.
While you hold your head up so very high,
she must be strong , humble and only sigh.
She breaks and bleeds and feels like the rest of you,
yet she must conserve her tears for the end of you.
Life she can never grasp.
It slips by her so very fast.
her bones her body her very soul,
never gets a chance to rest ,
because for you thats not whats best.
she carrys your burdens and makes them her own,
so that your youth , your death, won't ever leave you struggling ,
and alone.
she has to carry and enforce the wisdom you often over look ,
but humbly allows you for credit to book.
She never tells you I told you so,
for your self esteem is fragile you need it to truly grow.
She searches out the best bargains the best deals,
so when resources run low the worry you don't have to feel.
she has a calming voice to comfort you,
when lifes broken through her to shed you a few blues.
She has the healing knowledge ,
to nurse you out of your lowly bed.
She has your warm smile ,
so you can feel love and joy,
even through the good lords hardening trials.
you grow up , knowing you were loved
but you often forget her cross still hangs ,
and her pain she has buried deeper then your gratitude could of ever dug.
If you turn and catch her on an off day,
she'd still spare you the truth of her real way.
She is the caretaker but human still,
she is from birth it seems preordained.

Author's Notes:
I know that it doesn't sound the greast as a poem sort but It is not how it's written that i want to be acknowledged it is the message in it. mothers nurses sisters who are often left caring for the families the parents in age  and so on are so often taken for granted and often expected to be this superhuman person who can handle anything but that is not true. we are human and we do feel and we break and bleed and weep. just cause you can't see it doesn't make it so. This is dedicated to my best friend who carrys the weight of her whole world on her shoulders and still watches the whole world to seem to die before her eyes. I know she wants to give up and throw in the towl on her own life . I know she wants to stop caring because it would hurt less but that is not who she is andi believe her to be beautiful and human. I love you beverly.

She sounds like a humble healing angel. You are blessed to know her. May she recognize the rewards of her work and may this give her the strength and joy to continue. This is a lovely dedication...it validates all she does and shows your appreciative side too Maggie.
