Enlightenment & Meditation: Let's Dream a Little Dream
Enlightenment & Meditation
Let's Dream a little Dream

Foreword
by Jamieson Steele

"My First Haiku",
{ I dreamt of an Island,
amid sunlit shores & skies,
and woke to its morn!}
written in the
Tradition of Meditation,
is to be used
  as your guide
to understanding
"Enlightenment".
What do I mean by Enlightenment?

Enlightenment
is to be able to visualize,
for example,
a land, an Island
amid ocean waters
in the early morn.

Enlightenment
is to be able to sense,
to feel the atmosphere,
the enviroment,
you've created
& possibly
have become
part of.

Body & Mind
Now
let your senses tell you
if you've awakened
or
if you're still enjoying
the experience
of the peace & calm
of an Island
in the early morn.

Awareness
And if your senses tell you
it's time to wake up
this is
Enlightenment.
It's refreshing. It's real. It's imaginary.
It's not yet transcendental. That's for another time.
Jamieson

A Jamieson Note
Please remember.
(1)
You've created a dream;
a Dream
that is
"peaceful & calm".

(2)
Of course a dream can be
" adventurous & challenging".
Choice
However
don't make it a nightmare.
That's abuse, humiliation & fear.
And fear & pain,
my friend,
are directly connected
to the body's
"flight & fear response system"
which is
"chemically addictive".

Words of Wisdom
Which do you chose?
Chemical addiction or Peace of mind.
After all,
why fantasize when
" reality & imagination"
gives you the
"peace & calmness",
the comfort,
of a
sound mind & body.

With loving eyes & heart,
God bless us all,
Jamieson from Palm Bach
where you're only a breeze away
from any Caribbean Island.

Author's Notes:
A Jamieson Note
Have you reached
"Enlightenment"?
Let me know.

Point
It's nice to be awake
and
to get up in the
early morn.

All the best,

Jamieson

Enlightenment

is to be able to sense,
Love this one.  Seems to fit me best out of all of the poem.  Only I'd have left out the "possibly."  I'd just do it.
Thanks
Gene
