Then To Now-Daughter's Song
Verse 1:
Lately I've been thinking how
times have changed from then to now
cause I've been watching you grow
since the day you were born
and now I'm watching you go
stepping out to your life
it's a good time to say
I love you so.

Verse 2:
Someday soon I know you'll say
it's time to find your own way
from what I've seen of this world
you'll get by just fine
yours and mine this is our time
I wouldn't want to change a thing
it's a good time to say
I'll miss you so.

Chorus:
She knows all the songs about Mickey Mouse
makes believe in a pink play house
wonders what is left from right
and wants a story read each night
and when she looks up at the sky
with her little bright blue eyes
she would always ask me
where's the moon daddy.

Verse 3:
Today it pleases me to see
how good all the things can be
you're the one responsible
for making me feel this way
and I'll have these memories
taking me to the end
it's a good time to say
I love you so.

Repeat Chorus

Author's Notes:
I posted this earlier and some of you wanted to hear the actual song which I finally completed in late December.  The problem for me was  making it accessible.  So after looking at various solutions I've come up with this link.  If anyone knows a better way please let me know.
Peace to all.

Yes!  the very day you posted this I was honestly thinking on my way home on the 202...I wonder if Roger ever finished the musical recording for his daughter...and there it appeared!  You did such a nice job on it...I dont know how you could have finished the recording without shedding a few tears...daddy's little girl growing up is a very emotional subject....Nicely done!  My favorite part is the chorus...love, love the chorus.  I am a mama with three grown sons, so my song would be a little different...but I can certainly relate..."wants a story read everynight, and when he looks up at the sky with big brown eyes...he would ask me...mama, where's the moon?"  Yours in an adorable creation!  Congratulations on bringing it all together with lyrics, voice, and music.  Your Cornhusker Friend, Linda

Roger,
Tears welled up in my eyes when I read the words of a loving father to his little girl grown up.

Your daughter is blessed to have a man that has guided her and loved her with the special love only a Father can give. Beautiful and precious. I am sure she will cherish these words for a lifetime.

~Cindy

Wonderful description of loving and letting go, Roger...To be completely un-original, the time passes so fast you can't keep up...len

Roger,

Check out my song & poem,

"My Little Lady,

A Daughter's laughter".

It's about laughter & play.

It's about a daughter who

knows she's loved.

It should give you the

added ideas you want.

All the best,

Jamieson

Duh! Hopeless, I reckon. I read the poem way back when, commented, then read the finished song, commented, then remembered you said the work "link". Haha! O well. So I followed the link and found the recording. Are you also doing the accompaniment? Gosh, you're smart. I never have figured out how to record anything. Good work, Roger. ML

Well, hullo! It's been a long time. I'm happy to see you posting. You did a fine job finishing up the song. She's a lucky girl. I'm sure she's aware of that, and loves Daddy, too. I'd love to hear this sung. ML
