9/11 Ten Years After

Where has time gone across these fleeting years?,

Dancing across out memories unlike our falling tears.

Yet the time such past is burnt into the memory,

It maybe ten years gone, but still seems like yesterday.

9/11 will always be the torch bearer of insanity.

What did they think when they killed and hijacked the planes?,

That we wouldn’t notice, that the world would remain the same?.

Cold steel killing cold steel, yet inside a thousand human hearts,

As the heat of the flames rises, so our deadly hatred starts.

The worst of humanity was seen, yet too so was the best.

Despite you in spite of you, humanity rose from the ashes,

Bringing out true heroes, wisdom, love, qualities the world embraces.

You didn’t bring us down, like the tragedy of the falling towers,

You gave us clear resolve, from this murder, the hour will be ours.

We stood united, enough is enough, hate us no more.

The time has gone, 9/11 really was ten years ago,

And humanity has moved on as our wisdom and peace will show.

The journey is hard and the road long to that which we shall seek,

But one day we will stand as family, every creed, the strong and the weak.

Never again shall we be so blind, ten years has taught us well.

Colin Skilton

(Humbly dedicated to all those who died on 9/11 may they rest in peace Amen.)

Author's Notes:
I cannot believe it ten years since this tragedy, watching it unfurl as we watched the TV will be a memory forever etched on my mind and the tears l cried then return today. May God forgive those who killed thousands of innocent people. May those who died on that terrible day find rest and peace in God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ Our Lord. For those who died who where other faiths may their God also allow them peace too.
Colin
My life has changed forever, may this one act change the lives of every Man Woman and Child forever too.
