Our Worlds, Our Lives, Same Difference

Our Worlds, Our Lives, Same Difference

       In my world,

Things are trying to be simple

       In your world,

       Things are going reverse

       In my world,

       "Sky is the limit”

       In your world,

       Clouds show the end

       In my world,

       Stars can be reached

       In your world,

       The moon stays dark

       In my world,

       Oceans exist to be crossed

       In your world,

       A pond poses challenge

       In my world,

       Friendship needs trust

       In your world,

Every hiccup is cause for lost

       In my world

The like poles repel, giving each other space

       In your world.

Opposites attract, taking each other’s space

       In my world,

       Eyes are to see

       In your world,

       They can only watch

       In my world,

       Ears are to listen

       In your world,

       They can only hear

       In my world,

       Words have lives, they live

       In your world,

       They’re only alphabets to play

       In my world,

       We meet for a reason

       In your world,

       It’s just another play

       My world,

Used to be like yours once

       Not any more

Author's Notes:
This is a sum up of my experiences and will continue as I get to remember things for the past 46 years right to the present time. I also would love to see your contribution to this series "In my world, In your world" to see if we can finally discover and see Our World as it is, and what improvements can be made to make it better.

I am not quite sure about the category, but since it's about way of living our lives, it is in this one.

What a fantastic poem!  It's steady and determined throughout -- but then, the end is Something Else!  What a coda -- the break in the rhythm, the ironic twist in the first two lines and then that sharp little red arrow at the end.  The sea was pretty calm:  then all off a sudden the tides turned.  One fine poem.  Cool!  --David

Dean,
i like the color it brings out the pizzazz in the soda pop here...

which of course makes me think of how i should not be drinking mountain dew at this hour...but i forget what i'm saying

back to the comment, great expression of thought and development of movement in the

structure of the writing ...i love how there is harmony in the dance of the words.

five stars*****

pete.

Dean, the world need more optimistic people like yourself, people who can see the beauty in life and not only pain and suffering.  I was once a person who cold not see the light, there was no beauty, there was no inner peace. Living life was such an intense struggle.  It is not always easy to change our thoughts and beliefs, things take time.  I finally opened my eyes to see what God has given me, a second chance!   For many it will never happen and sometimes a wave of fear comes over me that I may someday find myself  living again in the dark.  Very thought provoking.  A well expressed poem.   Tina

You ... speak for yourself.  My world is painted a much better color than you predict.  I think you'll find more people are like you then the "your" in your poem.  Least wise I hope they are.
Liked it.  It made me think about my life.   (Now, if only my brain will recover.)
