Wekcome To The Nodern World

Welcome To The Modern World

He picked up the razor blade and turned

His attention to the mirror and the white

Powder on its surface shakily he chopped

Out another two long lines and picked up a bill

He took a deep breath and was contented

Once more another few minutes of respite

From this world so diseased and corrupted --

Constant use had made him mentally ill

His world was one of survival no food or

Electric or gas just coke and sod the world

His appearance had declined along with his

Health and his flat was a garbage pit of empty

Food cartons - - cans and bottles all manner

Of human detritus welcome to the modern world

The modern world and all of it's temptations, snorting one's life away has become much too common a sight.    Henry
