The
Knights And The Dragons
The
dragon was enormous – high as the castle wall
Flames
of death threatened from its many-toothed gaping maw;
Sir
David, Sir Len and the others saw many fall –
While
others were picked up and carried inside its jaw.
King
Al and Friar Gene prayed hard for their salvation;
Lady
Linda tried to knock the beasts out from the air –
There
were many and attacks came with repetition;
Knights
charging to the battle with bravery and flair.
Len
led the attacks with the enchanted sword but he too
Tired
at the constant wave of scale and tooth and horned tail.
Even
though they outnumbered them they appeared too few
And
the sound of crackling wood mixed with villagers' wail.
A
serious threat to the realm and their existence
Brought
challenge to the knights and their Holy persistence.
'Tis
not a hunt but a roast with us as the main dish!'
This
from Sir Henry to Sir John who fought together.
'Our
job is to make sure that they don't get what they wish.'
Sir
Dirk fought hard with Geena like brother and sister.
'We
should attack them now at the source of their power.'
Sir
Dave counselled Al, 'Leave men here to guard the village.
I
have watched as they all fly in from the Black Tower.
We
need venture there – a force here to stop the pillage.'
Bandits
had used the dragons' attacks to make a raid.
'Go
Sir David.' said Al, 'God speed.' came from Friar Gene.
Sir
Len led them out as they went to the village's aid –
Pumped
and fired up as never before or ever seen.
They
headed for the Black Tower and Count Lardiass;
But
were watched by witch Orgasma in her magic glass.
Linda
had felt the glass and with magic shattered it.
Negating
the black witch's power Orgasma fled
But
was stopped by a scouting Sir John with one hit.
This
was no lady but a ghoul – upon good she fed.
Dirk,
Geena and Hank caught up with Lardiass inside.
Dave
and Len questioned him about the dragons' power
They
had to seek the Fire crystal which was a foot wide
And
then smash it – they then set off for the Black Tower.
They
found it guarded by a fearsome dragon which Len - -
With
the magic sword slew then smashed he the blood crystal.
At
once the dragons began to fly home to the Den –
Whilst
the knights took their captives to be seen by King Al.
Al
had them locked away and then threw away the key –
And
fixed all properties in the realm without a fee.
