Once Upon A Distant Memory

Once Upon A Distant Memory

Once upon a distant memory –

We stood and loved as one;

Indivisible and resolute –

Share did we a common soul –

Each other's love we'd won.

In life we'd share our pain –

The heart-aches did not haunt us;

Solace and grief our catharsis –

For we learned and grew;

Our love was truly joyous.

We love each other still –

Only you are with Our Lord;

But nonetheless I feel the love –

And reflect it back to you;

With you I still am in accord.

Real love has no boundaries.  Nor does it cease because of death.  Perhaps the love that is as a result of loss is -- in a way -- a truer kind of love than that which is more earthly.  It's a thought, anyway.  Gorgeous writing, again, in your own inimitable style.  --D

Indeed, the loss of life does not result in the loss of love. The poem has an interesting rhyme scheme to back up the beautifully crafted words.
Peace
