It is clear that the first was set within emotion
and the second examined a frail devotion
yet both have their merits
for understanding relations.

WOW Dan! Intensely and profoundly personal, put forth in such a way as to mean so much to so many. Stunningly beautiful!

My heart was entwined within a barb wire fence.Protection from pain was the first line of defense. Intense and thoughtful. Your poem really really touches me, because of the honesty. Just a great piece :)

A profound look at our conceptions and misconceptions developing in the fullness of time -- as you say wealth is not measured in gold... As always you provide us not only a superbly crafted write but a topic which forces us to cogitate in earnest -- quality and depth here -- thank you for sharing...

A mature poet's statement about the changes that happen with the passage of time. Personal and meaningful. Intriguing and insightful. --David
