Day Of The Butterfly
Oh butterfly, I just love it to watch you flutter by
On your way to wherever it may be, up in the clouds
It's such a treat to see you, I wish that I could be you
To have mighty wings and to rise above the crowds

Oh butterfly, I know you must have good reasons why
That you haven't a care in the world, as e'er you soar
A glorious kind of freedom, I delight always to see them
I could spend all day, just hoping that I could see more

Your brilliant colours are so awesome and so amazing
A flying pinwheel, whistling through the big blue sky
To see you fly during sunset, with those colours blazing
Just meandering lazily, throughout the sweet by and by

Oh butterfly, you make my day, as the many hours go by
A lovely air ballet, that has no equal, anywhere at all
And when the day is through, I'll pray to the Lord for you
Because when it's time to go to Heaven, you'll get the call!
Author's Notes:
Today, there were dozens and dozens of these small butterflies in my town and general vicinity. I never saw so many at one time. They had the markings and colours of a Monarch or Viceroy butterfly, but they were much smaller in size. Perhaps they were all hatchlings....babies just puting to flight for the first time. At any rate, they were beautiful to see. Spring is here, dudes!

This must have been a rare and beautiful sight -- God Bless Nature -- the skill of your writing enables us to be there and witness it for ourselves -- another triumph Len -- good show --

Lovely write.  Could almost dance to this poem -- of course, flying would have been more fun;but, I can't seem to do that.
