Island Justice
It was in the islands that we
witnessed justice –
For that was the description of
the punishment;
A starving man for his family
stole some rice –
Such an illegal act fostered
deep resentment;
Punishment was to the islands
quite eccentric –
Rendered the culpable limbs for
dismemberment;
Such Draconian principles seem
archaic –
Yet they act as a quite
efficient deterrent.
The sentence was executed very
swiftly –
Reaction of the victim more
surprise than pain –
Severe and harsh it may be but
here is Godly;
He who was sentenced did not
re-offend again;
Does this make it right if all
who live know the rules?
Or is this where the asylum is
run by fools?
