A fool, he, to ever believe it at all
A fool, he, to see nothing else real
To think that anyone wanted him
He never saw that he would fall
Was it that he was so damn blind
Was it that he would not try to see
No matter that it was really true
The fool....fooled by his own mind
A foolishness of his own making
Chased rainbows that never were
In the sad belief that he was loved
And now, his heart lies breaking
Is it better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all
Not to know love, you never get hurt
Losing love has a very painful cost
But a fool just keeps hope for the call
That he will in fact, find that rainbow
Maybe those like him should be admired
So here's to the fools....bless them all!
