Carpe Diem
This is the day we cut loose
No worries, just celebration
For the world is ours, here now
We seized the day and all in it
Ride the tide of carefree spirit
Let it live within you, to guide
Raise the flag, loose the fun
Clouds....light, whispy in evidence
Look up to a marshmallow sky!
Birds in flight....vibrant, they
Colours so bright and tasty
They look just like flying candy
Whoa! And look at the kites!
Children piloting their joy
What fun to be kid, today
Even if you're not, you ARE!
Fears, troubles and strife....
Have no province, they be gone
Sent to the shredder of faith
We are on a heavenly bent
Cartwheels of hope and peace
Rejoice! For this is The Blessing
Take possession of the gift He gave
We all can be celebrants of joy
Every day can be like this!
Make today the very first day
Of the rest of your life
Carpe diem....seize the day!

Author's Notes:
Faith and hope can do that for us all....it is written!

This is a spectacular poem, and I\'m especially glad you translated the Latin words.  They are familiar to me, but I never did know what they meant.  You teach, man.  --DLFF

Altough Carpe Diem is mostly associated with Homer my particular favourite is that of Mahatma Gandhi he said \" Live as if you were to die tomorrow,Learn as if you were to live forever\" \"Seize the day\" can mean so many things dependant on the situation you find yourself in,but be that as it may,I truly enjoyed your poem for its vibrant outlook, freshness.
