NO TEMPER HAVE GRAY SHADOWS CAST

No temper have gray shadows cast —

Upon these days called Now —

Dynamic they — imperfect past —

Defining Here somehow.

Existence be continuum —

Division — indiscreet —

Time counts upon an unknown sum —

Its journal incomplete.

Author's Notes:

Time is one of my favorite subjects to write about. This poem has to do with the notion that the present -- the Now -- is always influenced by the past; so what Is Now is not a pure thing in itself -- but at least dimly colored by the grayness -- or perhaps the sparkle -- of before.

	David A great piece. Time..... Is all relative... It is something that is never permenant for life continues to move with each breath we take. We are all living in the past with each breath, the future with each new heart beat. Is there really such a thing as the present.-: I've said this many times no matter how unpleasant my past was it has made me who I am. 	I loved the reference to time's incomplete journal. I guess all we ever know is the continual tick tick tick until the tick is silent.
