Solstice Dawn
She lay upon the
great stone prone –
Stonehenge laid
out around her form;
The act played
on – she did condone –
She – Druid
born and did conform;
Around the stone
hooded figures –
Sinister in the
solstice light;
Chanted whilst
disappeared the stars –
And arrived at
last the sunlight;
The dagger –
long and curved – glinted –
And then the
fear within the girl
Like the sun
behind her surfaced;
Too late – the
end a lightning swirl;
No record of
this heinous deed -
Will see the day
by all agreed.
