Mankind's Death Knell

Emerging from the ghetto of the underworld –

It came to watch and learn the ways of all Mankind;

Its silhouette traced on the alleys of the world –

The underbelly and the worst it was to find;

Cheap thrills and sex on demand – a pimp on each street –

Drugs furtively changing hands in shady dealings;

Extortion – bloody murder – dangers you could meet –

Depravity and Stygian lust – no close feelings;

It returned whence it came with knowledge to impart –

Before The Great One it knelt in supplication;

It gave of his knowledge and it made Him start –

Laughter filled the abyss – aural fornication;

Life on Earth was doing well – as good as this Hell –

Mankind's fate had been sealed and sounded the death knell.
