Man On Fire
Each day, I walk a very thin line
every minute is a challenge, you see
trying very hard never ever to cross
from the real world to insanity

You took everything good from me
left me raw, without a shred of  pride
but what you really failed to realize
was the fire that raged inside

When you mess with a madman
you take your life in your hands
you never know just what he'll do
what his deranged mind demands

And so it is with me at this point
you actually don't have any clue
how very lucky you are to still be
and what I could really do to you

I really try to reason these things out
you have no idea how hard I do try
to keep revenge demons from using me
and resorting to an eye for an eye

When you sought to turn him against me
take a man's child, put his soul in a cage
there's no manner of justice left on earth
that can protect you from his burning rage

And so, I'll do whatever it's going to take
to make sure you pay for your sick desire
Hell has no fury like a woman scorned
but that can't compare to a man on fire!

I do so hope this is in your imagination, you dont have to work in coal mine to know it is dusty and black. I loved the rage in this and I can imagine myself feeling that way in similar circumstances. Very well done.

Man on fire!!!!!!!!!

Seems someone is messing with you once again..

You can only push a man so far and then out of control...

I think people have become greedy and want  to control your world if they can....

Seems like you must stand back and try to work with that party

to keep from losing every thing... As humans we are stubborn...

Surely a product of your vivid imagination.  You ain't no man on fire, sir: you're just a warm guy.  Stay away from this pyromaniac.  Please!  --David

I have to agree with Taniya on this one. Brilliant, but a bit terrifying.

Uh oh. Is everything OK? You just seriously scared me. But the poem is brilliant. I feel the anger and the helplessness. Is there no way to set this sad situation right?
