Healing Myself
My decision was final,
knowing I had to take control
of my innermost feelings;
and to heal the bruising of my soul.
My heartache and pain
simply needed relief.
It‘d been way too long
dealing with the grief.
I made a promise
to me, myself and I.
To heal my heart for good;
at least I had to try.
I challenged myself
to write something every day
Some days were easy;
some days I’d simply pray.
My days are now more peaceful;
life is sunny and bright.
My writing was therapeutic,
and I know I’ll be all right.
