I look behind me and see pain
I see a girl who doesn't know her way
A few people that she's trusted who stabbed her in the back
A dream she always had but hasn't come true
The life she's always longed for but has yet to see
A guy she's always loved but have never seen
A broken winged angel that can't seem to fly
Who gets back up when others push her down
She stood up for what shes believed in with out a second thought
Longing for a break From pain and sadness
A broken and torn family that does the best they can
She helps to raise a sibling who looks after her so much
A mother who needs more love than she herself can give
Being split up from her sister.
Then I realize
I'm looking at my past
I compare it to my life now and how nows its not so bad
Her family is getting by
her sister is now married
Her younger sister still very young but smart
Her mother smiling
I look at how much I have acomplished and how much good i've done
Why cant people take me for the person that I am
I look into a mirror
And I no longer see a girl who doesn't know her way
but instead a girl who found her path and is now on her way |
