Fly on the wall
A small Fly sits atop a pile of dog shit with many others. A car pulls up and the Fly and his group break apart. The Fly we follow flies into the kitchen window of the house. “The life of a Fly, a Fly, nobody cares about him so small just trying to go about his life and people just want to kill him. But this Fly this Fly he just wants to go about his life and maybe get something to eat. We will call this Fly Walter.” Walter Flies off the kitchen wall and out into the living room. As he buzzes around he sees a tall woman walking in holding large bags and two children run by her screaming. Walter flies up stairs he flies into the bathroom and then into another room. Walter looks around and it seems like a teenagers room it is Walter can see a teen boy on the phone. “I haven’t told my parents yet but I think I might be gay” The boy says into the phone “Oh the things a Fly will hear, Oh the things Walter has heard” Walter just looks at the boy and then takes off out of the room. “So small not a real care in the world right? Or does he have cares hopes dreams who knows he’s just a fly, right?” Walter makes his way back into the bathroom. He flies around for a minute or two and then lands in the trashcan. He walks around on the trash trying to find himself something to eat. Someone walks into the bathroom Walter looks up from the trashcan to see a big fat man. The man unbuckles his belt then drops his pants. The fat man sits down on the toilet and opens up his paper. Walter tries to fly out the door but the fat man has closed it so Walter tries the window and it is opened but there is a screen. Walter is now trapped in the bathroom with the fat man. “This can't be good for Walter. Even if the smell is driving him crazy Walter still would like to get out of there.” Walter flies around trying to find his way. A big fast flash comes at him, it’s the fat man’s hand. “Now how would you like that? A fat man tries to crush you with his big fat hand.” Walter keeps flying faster and faster he needs no he must get out. “Get away Fly!” The fat man says as he swings his hands at Walter. Walter gets away and the man finally stops swinging. Walter lands on the sink the fat man is reading his paper when he sees Walter, he rolls up his paper and slams it down Walter jumps out of the way. “Now come on people he just wants to get out. He just wants to live his life like you. But do people care about what a little fly wants. I mean take Walter here he could have children a wife a family but do you people care? When a human dies does anybody care? Yes everybody cares. When a fly dies who cares? Nobody that’s who. When a fly dies they just think “Big deal a Fly is dead” Walter flies around as the fat man gets up and chases him around the room. “Dam fly!” The fat man yells Finally he opens the door and lets Walter fly out. Walter flies downstairs he flies around looking for a way out of the house. “Walter now knows he must get out of here. This house, any house is dangerous for a fly. And Walter just wanted a little something to eat and a place to keep warm for a while. But he can see he’s not going to get that here.” Walter flies around the living room a young girl in her teens sits on a couch with her boyfriend. She seems upset maybe because her mom is in the other room. Walter flies around them for am bit and then lands on a cracker. Walter walks around on it and rubs his hand he thinks to himself. “Salt cracker I lick” Walter takes a lick of the cracker when the young girls boyfriends hand comes down Walter jumps up and flies out of the there. “What are you doing?” The girl asks “Trying to get that fly” Her boyfriend replies. “Who cares” The girl says as she pulls him back on the couch. “Now do you people see what I mean? Walter was just trying to get something to eat and a man tried to kill him. How would you feel if you were sitting at you kitchen table eating your breakfast when a man just for no reason shots you in the back? Wouldn’t like that much now would you?” Walter flies into the kitchen he smells something and is still very hungry. Walter sees a big pot so he flies over to it. The woman who is cooking is over on the other side of the kitchen cutting up vegetables. Walter lands on the edge of the pot and looks around the inside, he can see potatoes floating in the boiling water of the pot. The woman turns and walks back to the pot. She sees Walter and swings her hand at him. “Get away fly” She says Walter flies off and goes around the kitchen then makes his way back to the pot. “I told you to get!” The woman swings her arms like a mad man. She chases Walter right out of the kitchen and in to the living room, where she see her daughter’s boyfriend feeling her young fourteen year old daughter up as they make out. “See that now if it wasn’t for Walter the mother might have never caught them.” Walter buzzes around the house some more just you know buzzes. Walter lands on the wall and stays there for maybe an hour before moving along again. Walter flies back into the kitchen and the family is now eating diner. They are very loud and there is a lot if food so Walter flies down on to the table. “I can’t believe what you and that dirt pig were doing!” The mother yells Walter walks across the table looking for something nice to eat but then again Walter will eat anything. Walter hopes onto a plate it belongs to a three year old child. Walter is doing his fly thing on the food when the child starts tosses it all over Walter jumps up and has to get out of there fast. Walter flies out of the kitchen and through the living room. Walter can only think to himself. “Boy I sure as hell got to get out of this fucking place” Walter flies all over the house as fast as he can trying to find a way out a fast way out. After flying for what seems to be forever Walter finds an open window and flies for it. Right then the fat man closes the window and walks away Walter runs right into it. “No, no, no, no” Walter things to himself as he keeps flying into the window like if he does it over and over again the window will open or the window will break or there would be a way out. “Walter is now scared he is trapped in a big world he knows noting about and to make things worse he is alone and has monsters trying to kill him. Walter flies into rooms the day has become the night. Poor little fly trapped why won’t somebody help him?” Walter flies down the hall the girl she is closes her door. Walter quickly flies through her door right before she closes and locks it. Walter now see the open window but the girl is walking over there her boyfriend is climbing in the window as Walter flies out the boyfriend starts to fall. “All god!!” The boyfriend yells as he falls “Oh no!” The girls yells Walter has made his way out the window and to freedom. “Walter made his way out he has got his freedom. There are many other flies that don’t make it like Walter did. Why is it that people fail to see that a fly has a soul it must have a soul for it is a living thing like a human like a dog or a cat. When man kills a cow or pig they do it for food there is a reason, I’m not saying that it makes it right but there is a reason but there is none when a man kills a fly. Just think about it why? What is the point in killing a fly, what because he is in your house he is getting on your nerves? Big deal the fly was here first this is his world you are living in and it’s because he lets you so give him a break. Just think of poor little Walter and how all he wanted was something to eat and a place to keep warm for a while.” THE END
