Together

A child we know  who's so full of love
A gift presented from God up above
A name from the Bible was given to him
For Gods in his heart,  Christ is his limb

Aaron they call him a child who glows
For his heart is so pure that the love it just flows
Multiple handicaps does not keep him down
He can put a smile on a long lonely clown

His life may be short, the pain he can feel
But with God in his heart  he is able to deal
A growing young boy who wants only to live
Has been stopped in his tracks,  with what life has to give
His mom with a heart so big you can see
Is hurting so badly, praying God can this be?
The tears they are flowing with fear for her son
A battle together will never be done

Embracing each other the fight they shall win
For their hopes and their dreams will let them begin
A goal for them is needed today
So together they kneel, together they pray

For strength in Aaron, God please give it back
For thats one thing he's missing,  thats on thing he lacks
The fear is strong as the legs grow weak
As they pray for help in God they do seek
Asking fill us with hope so we may proceed
To continue our battle,  much more strength we will need

So God please grant them what strength that you may.
To keep them together so Aaron can play
Feed them and love them  for that's what is right
To give them the courage to continue to fight

Fill their hearts with joy and laughter
And give them the strength to face what is after
The need and desire to continue together
Will strengthen their hearts now and forever!!

Author's Notes:
I wrote this poem about a ten year old boy who had multiple handicapps including deafness, anorexia, multiple sclerosis, and a sensory problem. Aaron had to be feed many times by a feeding tube. The strength and courage I saw from both him and his mother truely inspired me. Many people could learn a few things about courage and strength from the two of them!!!

This is an inspirational poem for a family very much in need of it.  I hope things are better for them now.

You have written this story so well; I too know people similar to this and could relate to it very much. I hope and pray that things get better for the two of them. But, what happened to the Dad?

Yes, I'm so sure we could learn much from them. But much is in this wonderful poem, we know them without meeting them through you. Thank you for bringing them to us in this way. A really great work! I know they are in all our prayers.

An awesome story about awesome people. Well done. As Jerry says, though, there are a few typos that could use fixing. ;o)
