A Secret Meadow
Imagine walking in a meadow.

Look strait ahead of you.

See that dark shadow

Casted from the tree?

A hidden door lies there.

You open it and discover,

Something beautiful and rare.

And you stare in wonder.

Theres a waterfall flowing,

Into crystal clear blue water.

Over the rocks it is splashing,

With its own rhythmic beat.

Beside the shimmering river,

Tall redwood trees grow.

Reaching higher and higher

towards the blue sky.

You look up and see the sun.

Shining across the land.

Yet theres always someone.

Sitting in the darkness.
Author's Notes:
Sometimes I look around and see all those little details that God made for us to be happy [which he didn't have to.] Like the sun...He didn't have to make it to warm us and give us light but he did. He didn't have to make the grass so green and the ocean so blue, but he did. Still, with all this, most people are still depressed and to them the world is dark...=[ I'd just like to say that a lot of times I am too, but when I look around and see all the great wonders of the world, it makes me happier.

The last line... such a minor detail in this parade of beauty, yet it gives the poem such depth, a juxtaposing of reality, that this poem comes across, imho, as a glimmering gem!
