Life in a day, I suppose
Morning is born once more,
Yet another mournful day,
A point between then,
and after, or something anyway.

Some time to get through,
The future's just tomorrow,
The past was yesterday,
Today merely fills the hollow.

Something to fit between,
Eternal and yet fleeting,
Keepings dreams and you
From ever meeting.

Still yearning for yesterday;
The blissful memory lingers,
But all hopes to repeat it
Slip through my fingers.

Between sunrise and set,
The future becomes the past
Much too quick to hold on to,
Left burdened and outcast.

Dreams are for tomorrow,
Yesterday is for you,
And the day in between
Is all I ever belong to.
