If Wooden Hearts Could Float
Desperately yearning for something real
That these hands could grasp and feel,
To drink down clear water so sweet,
And satisfy this hunger with heartfelt meat.

Forever chasing elusive fey dreams;
Threadbare hopes to restitch these seams.
Embarked on a perilous journey under,
But held a curse no penance could sunder.

Stared into the descending night sky,
Wished for an end to this curséd lie,
And desperately held onto this chance
To relinquish this marionette's dance.

Oh to tear this cage apart,
And cleave this heart in half,
To break out and soar free,
Become all that I was meant to be.

But laid down to sleep filled with sorrow,
Because dreams won't come true tomorrow.
Author's Notes:
This is about Pinocchio, no really, go read it again, just a bit different. To me it always seemed like the saddest fairytale, the happy ending never really seemed to fit :)
