Upon Some Shelf
I canít feel this way without you
I canít fight to save myself
All the thoughts I think about you
Neatly placed upon some shelf

I canít hide this way forever
I canít have what I canít touch
All the time we spent together
Simple moments missed so much

I canít run to find my future
I canít stop to see my past
Nothing gets as close as you were
Nothing seems to ever last

I canít fly to reach the skyline
I canít swim to catch the land
All the proof to fill a lifetime
But I still donít understand

I canít feel this way without you
I canít do this dance myself
So Iíll sit and think about you
Neatly placed upon some shelf

BTW - The Sorceress and I are not gay, she just drinks alot of tequilla on Wednesdays! LMAO! Loved this so much I wanted to share. We are guilty of not reading alot of 'young folk' posts because we can't quite get the hang of the 'u r kute' kind of writing. I stumbled across your writes by accident. It was actually in English I could understand it and more than a little touched by the piece! I sent the call out that we had a real poet in the 'Hay ouse'.....did I get that last bit anywhere near right? Savanah...

Glorious Jake! Once again I say I am not a fan of love poems, but Bubba, you've got something here! I really really think you should put it in for Featured Poem. It's not so buried in flowery description that you need a dictionary to decipher it, but is clean, sharp and beautiful - Savanah....really loving this piece!

Simple moments can make for something really special.

Lovely...but *sniffle* sad too!

That shelf sometimes gets full, and we have to clear it off to start all over. There's always someone out there looking for the love you have to offer and then we find that it is time to clear that shelf, discard the painful memories and heartaches.
Great job...
Glata
