Prisoners of the Sky
Itís just
Another thing that shouldnít have gone wrong
Another time I wish I hadnít said "so long
Iíll catch you on the other side"

Another moment Iíve deflected
That shouldnít have gone undetected
But I was so determined to hide

And donít tell me that weíre getting on by
Because weíre both locked inside of this lie
And donít tell me we never see eye to eye
Because weíre both here, prisoners of the sky

I could have asked for something in return
Something to soothe this aching heartburn
But I left all my dreams behind

I want to ditch this past in dirt
But my footprints lead back to hurt
Canít all of this just rewind

And donít tell me that weíre getting on by
Because weíre both locked inside of this lie
And donít tell me we never see eye to eye
Because weíre both here, prisoners of the sky

If you could put aside your contempt
Then weíve one last escape attempt
And if you believe these words arenít hollow
Then Iíll lead and you can follow
Together we might get far

And donít tell me that weíre getting on by
Because weíre both locked inside of this lie
And donít tell me we never see eye to eye
Because weíre both here, prisoners of the sky

And if you believe these words arenít hollow
Then Iíll lead and you can follow
Because together we might get far
Together we might turn from the stars
Author's Notes:
Not exactly sure where it would fit in genre wise, maybe 'light alternative rock' *shrug* (for some reason the title seems familiar to me, I think there might be a Tintin book with the same name, can't really remember tho, haven't read Tintin in years)
