Twice
I could find such beautiful things
In you
Your smile and sweet laughter
Your deep eyes
When you give me that look
The look that melts me
All the way through

We could float in the pool all day
And stare up at the sky
Finding funny animal shapes
In the clouds
And laugh till our tummies hurt
And I wouldn't stare
At how good you looked in a bikini
Too often

And we could go out and have fun
Get drunk and run around
Pretending we were dinosaurs
Or monkeys, if that's your style
And no one else would care
I promise

And we could lie in a field
Wrapped under a blanket
Just the two of us
So we could look up at the stars
And I would see them all
Reflected in your eyes

And I'd love you
If only you kissed me
Twice
The second time to tell me
That you like me
For me
Or think you do, anyway

I'd give you all this
For a kiss
Or two
The rest doesn't matter
You're worth it
You always were
