An Angel's Tears

The day is here, and the time has come
For you to say goodbye
You now shall leave, to earn your wings
But my heart will surely die

Taken to the world above
Where angels hold your hand
Looking down upon this earth
Your absence, I can’t stand

Darkness is where I find peace
I feel your heavenly soul
My eyes they close, you’re here with me
Together we’re made whole

Breathing in so hard to do
I want my time to end
Take me there, back up with you
Death is now my friend

Loose myself with everyday
I’m no longer one who’s real
Can’t function on this earth no more
My loneliness won’t heal

I try to fall asleep at night
And clear my clouded mind
I feel you breathe gentle words
“I haven’t left you behind”

Then I awake, my dreams they fade
Many tears begin to spill
You can’t dry my eyes, or touch my face
And show me how to deal

Obvious is my shattered self
People can see it clear
I can handle that, it’s fine by me
But the screaming they won’t hear

Desperate for the days before
When you were here with me
Can’t take this pain, please go away
God, I will soon see

If you won’t come and take my soul
I’ll search the skies for you
Looking until I find your spirit
One life lost, now becomes two
