SORRY
You say that your sorry But how could you dare Sure now you care After all those times you just sat there And watched him beat me to the ground You just looked without making a sound Do you have no dignity? You knew he was raping me Yet you acted like nothing was wrong You just played along With his awful game That dug me into a hole of shame You never tried to stop the beatings Instead you left me there bleeding May God have mercy on your soul Cause you helped me dig that hole Without you my life couldn't have been destroyed Without you I couldn't have been his little toy So sorry mom I can't forgive you After all that shit you put me threw I know you hate yourself for what you did For your conscience has finally kicked in But I'm afraid its too late All thats left inside me is hate!
Author's Notes:
When I finally moved out of my house My mother felt awful for what she did and this is what I told her...Now she has broken up with my stepfather and raises 4 children on her own. even though she has turned her life around a small part of me still hates her but the bigger part has learned to love her very much. I now can forgive her.

this is powerful, and a real good write.in the end we still love our parents even though we thought they didnt care enough.your mom was so dependent on this man,she didnt realize how far she pushed you and your family away.i moved out at 19 because i was told i had to,even though i was not ready,my mom and i get along better now then we did then,in time you will forgive, maybe not forget but she is your mother and you will need her eventually even if for just talking.i hope you find your way,i hope you find peace and i hope you find your mother again, joe

I am totally headed in that direction with my mom. I don't want to resent her. I feel as though she puts him ahead of me. Even times where she was yelling for help to my neighbors as he put his hands on me...she let me know it was my fault and that it wouldn't be fair to her if i called the cops on him...cuz then where would she be?...it doesn't make sense still to this day...but i try to look at her the way i used to before she chose sides. I'm glad you can say you can forgive her now. You are very strong. God bless you.
