The digital plague
With pixels to bind these translucent fears
And data to consummate the binary tears,
Silicon hearts are all that tempt us now,
These dei ex machina are to whom we bow.

Like seawater to sand and wildfire to straw,
This condition waits for us, barely offshore;
Amid the tangle and tide of black and white
Lie chaos and disorder at the speed of light.

How much to answer for, how much to gain,
When devout electric sheep yearn for rain?
The threshold has been crossed and laid bare;
Reduced to electrons: every worry, every care.

Imaginary angels dance on the head of a pin
When mind and matter start to wear thin,
And this fervor will our innocence devour
As the iron grip of code grows by the hour.

When digital dreams pray and subliminal seams fray,
It’s a symptom, a sign, a crossed-over dotted line;
Abundance released us, entropy will bind us low,
And this digital plague is a seductive undertow.
Author's Notes:
This one came about after I found an old flash animation I did for a friend of mine for his TFC/CS clan, The digital Plague [TdP], years back. Ahh memories :)
