City of the Dead p5 (Chaos Zone)
Darkness….sweet darkness that was all there was in the world of Ethan Day and how he was in love with it, but it would not last long for the eager light from the afternoon’s sun was trying to force its way into his eyes.

Sitting up in his bed caused Ethan’s head to pound the shadows on his walls danced as if trying to add to his confusion. He looked down at his watch and the numbers were all blurry but after a few minutes he made it out to be 4pm “Shit I got to stop drinking so much” Ethan’s mouth was dry and tasted like what he could only imagine to be a camels ass.

Ethan got out of bed and was walking towards the fridge for something to eat and take the taste from his mouth, however he kept kicking empty beer bottles from the floor and after kicking one too many he happened to glance down. On the floor was a single folded piece of paper and although he didn’t know at the time what was written on it somehow he knew that it held something important…something very important.

Slowly in his white boxers he bent down to pick up the piece of paper and half way down there just out of habit he scratched his ass. When he stood up and opened the paper the memories came flooding back to him of the night before “Rachel 07774598750” it was written in pink lipstick.

It was almost like he was back there at the party, he remembered walking in the room even with the lights down low and the music loud it was all drowned out. There she was sitting on the couch, Her long blonde hair lying sleepily on her shoulders and perfectly straight, the way her eyes like shined at him like sparkling emeralds and her skin so soft and inviting to him he just stood there and stared.

“You need a tissue?” She had stood up and was about 5”8 which was good because Ethan was a tall lad and it would make a change from bending down, but how had she got up without him realizing. It was then he saw her smile and suddenly the room was lit up and he had seen all he needed to, meeting this girl at a party he didn’t even consider going to had to be fate.

He had made some bumbling half attempt of a come back that would make him seem smart but his mind was somewhere else at the moment and she just smiled and walked off.

“Well there goes your big chance” Ethan’s inner voice taunted him and he felt like a light from a ceiling that had been hanging so high but now had fallen and smashed, “Oh well there’s always beer” Ethan fought back against the voice in his head but the same couldn’t be said for fighting to stay sober.

He had found out from a friend that the girls name was Rachel and that was the last thing he clearly remembered. The rest of the night was a blur to him he couldn’t remember anything that had happened and the fact that he had the girl’s number in his pocket was confusing him even more.

Ethan was snapped back into the real world and he was getting cold so he decided to go put his pants on that were for some reason hanging on the ceiling fan, he reached into the pockets to find that his wallet was missing. “Bloody great” He had fuzzy and vague memories of leaving it on the sofa at the party, he was annoyed with himself but he would go round and pick it up. He thought he would try to call Rachel but there was no answer and knowing his luck she wasn’t interested and had just tried to avoid hurting his feelings by giving him the wrong number.

Ethan stepped out his front door to a sight he hadn’t seen since the last festival in Scotland he had been to, cars upturned, crashed and slowly burning, Blood smeared all over the place on cars, walls, chairs and lamps and then there was the hordes of what could only be flesh eating zombies.

The voice in his head had returned “first your wallet, then that girl gives you a fake phone number and now this? It’s going to be a bloody great day isn’t it?” and all he could think to reply to this was “Yup”

Author's Notes:
I think this is all the main characters that I wanted to introduce, now I want to move the story forwards.

As I said before, definitely going like this character that last paragraph is just classic.
